DCAF Ljubljana supported with its expertise the Regional Awareness-Raising Workshop on ITCG in Mostar, BIH, organised by GIZ. 

The aim of the workshop was to engage with relevant stakeholders, to enhance familiarisation with the phenomenon of ITCG, to encourage peer-learning for improvement of investigations on illicit trafficking. The workshop was to cover the roles and responsibilities of prosecution, law enforcement and other institutions in different countries, to present examples of investigations, international police cooperation, to present EMPACT PANDORA and Interpol’s Stolen Works of Art database, existing material for capacity development, to inform the participants about the plans for the joint operation and to agree on next steps to foster the “standing” on this crime phenomenon in this region

A common operation focusing on enhancing capacities for detection and countering illicit trafficking of cultural goods (ITCG).

The goal was to increase the capacity of police services across the Western Balkans to carry out joint operations in the area of illicit trafficking of cultural goods and to ultimately increase the number of joint investigations on the crime phenomenon.

The first meeting within the project Standardization and systemization of technical equipment of the Border police of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting aimed at introduction of project modalities, the intended outcomes, and foreseen work methodology.

A visit of representatives of Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Slovenia. The visit of specialised technology companies in SI, allowing the BIH experts to familiarise themselves in greater detail with specifics of border checks and surveillance equipment (technical specifications, system integration, maintenance, trainings…), incl. recommendations and experience on the use of various systems in border checks and surveillance.

A visit of the representatives of Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Slovenia, specifically to selected units of the Slovenian Police, with aim of familiarisation with specific elements of border checks and surveillance, as well as practical applicability of methods and technological solutions used.
