DCAF Meeting of Heads of Cabinets and Border Police Forces
Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina - Regional heads of cabinets of Ministries of Interior/Security and heads of border police services gathered for a regular steering meeting under the auspices of the DCAF Border Security Programme in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 26-28 February 2014. Representatives from Albania, BiH, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia made a thorough overview of the progress achieved by the beneficiary countries in main thematic areas covered by the Programme - namely Schengen Integration, Education and Training, Common and Coordinated Measures, Tackling Irregular Migration Challenges, and Operational Cooperation in the area of Return. Together they prepared the agenda and outlined main issues to be discussed by their ministers at the upcoming 10th Annual Ministerial Review Conference on Border Security in Southeast Europe, which is taking place on 9 April 2014 in Croatia. They also provided valuable and concrete feedback regarding past activities and proposals regarding further activities under the Programme.
