Between 2 and 6 September 2024, a field visit of BP BIH representatives took place, to selected units of BP Croatia. The visit is part of an ongoing Project "Support to the standardization of the resources of the border police of Bosnia and Herzegovina", financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration, which works towards preparing standards for technical equipment of the BP BIH, taking into consideration also the necessary systemisation elements. 

The aim of this field visit was for the representatives of the BP BIH to gain insight into the working of BP Croatia along the CRO/BIH border, with special focus on methods and technical capacities for conducting border checks and surveillance.

The visit started with a presenation of the organisation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of R. Croatia, and the workings of the national coordination centre, continued with a visit to the BCP Bajakovo (with Serbia), presentation of the Entry/Exit system (to be implemented at external Schengen borders in November 2024), visit to BCPs Cetingrad and Korenica. In addition to the border checks and surveillance equipment, the BP BIH also presented its drones and UAV capabilities.
