The Workshop brought together national representatives of DCAF Border Security Programme Beneficiary Countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, and Serbia), EU countries (Croatia and Slovenia) with the relevant partner organisations (Europol, Frontex and Interpol).
In line with the mandate given by the Border Police Chiefs at the meeting held in December 2015, in Dubrovnik, Croatia, the Meeting on Facilitation of Common and Coordinated Measures followed the established practice by analysing and planning further activities based on lessons learned during the Common and Coordinated Operations organised between 2012-2019, and documents on regional risk analysis prepared at the DCAF Workshop on Risk Analysis held from 11-13 November 2019 in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
During the workshop, the participants agreed on the dates and venues for the Common and Coordinated Operations in the Western Balkan Region in 2020, as well as on modus operandi for the preparation and the execution of the Common and Coordinated Operations based on experience gained so far, including the communication channels and reporting system.
The workshop concluded with a preparation and agreement on the “Detailed planning procedure of common operations 2020”.
