Field visit of the subgroup on Control and Checks technique
DCAF Ljubljana, within the project "Support to the standardization of the resources of the border police of Bosnia and Herzegovina", financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration, organised a field visit of the thematic working group on Checks and Control technique, which took place between 10-14 June 2024 in various locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The field visit is part of continuous Project efforts to prepare recommendations on standards and systemisation of the border police of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the event, a specifically engaged subject matter exper engaged with representatives of the border police of BIH to discuss the needs and standards relating to equipmetn used in border checks and border surveillance.
In addition to presenting preliminary criteria for the subsequent standardisation and systemisation of equipment and discussions with BP BiH counterparts on the actual needs and existing challenges, the participants also visited several of the border police units in Bosnia and Herzegovina where the team was also able to obtain first hand information regarding the current state-of-play, and to identify potential additional needs and specifics relating to work of border police officials.
