Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina - DCAF participated in the meeting at the level of heads of regional services responsible for readmission and return, held in Sarajevo, BiH, in the building of the Council of Ministers on 15th May 2013, attended by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, DCAF, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Office of the High Representative (OHR). The meeting was chaired by Ms Murfeta Džaferović, assistant minister of security. Ms Jelka Klemenc, M.A. of DCAF Ljubljana contributed to the discussion on the future regional endeavours addressing the most pertinent challenges in the area of irregular migration flows in the Southeast Europe. The participants welcomed the contribution of DCAF in the area Common Return, especially common return flights. They expressed their support for a regional project, where all the future endeavours, intended to mitigate the challenges of irregular migration flows, should proceed in mutual coordination, avoiding any overlaps of activities. The countries agreed on a common approach toward the EU and other international donors in the realisation of any future projects. They discussed how to mutually resolve the occurring obstacles in the implementation of existing bilateral readmission agreements.
