2022 marks the 20 years of the DCAF Border Security Programme, a significant milestone in DCAF’s history of supporting the development and work of law enforcement institutions in the Western Balkan region. In celebration of the anniversary, DCAF Ljubljana organised a high-level strategic event on border security in the Western Balkans, and brought together the WB Border Security Services’ representatives, as well as international agencies and organisations working in the area of border security in the WB Region.

The regional meeting of PCCC representatives served as a follow-up to the mapping exercise of the operational capacities of the PCCCs in the WB Region with aim to identify concrete steps for improvement of exchange of information among the PCCCs and their potential in the fight against serious and organised crime.

Preševo, Serbia – Common Operation “PREŠEVO” was organised under the auspices of the DCAF Border Security Programme and in cooperation with the Directorate of Border Police or the Republic of Serbia Between 28 October and 07 November 2019.

Montenegro - Common operations “TUZI II” and “SUKOBIN I” took place between in Montenegro, near the border with Albania along the “Adriatic” migration route Between 24 May and 7 June 2019. The operation was organised under the auspices of the DCAF Border Security Programme in cooperation with Montenegrin Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Selected International Airports of the DCAF BSP beneficiaries and Austria. From 4-14 Seotember 2017 coordinated operation named “ICARUS 2017” took place simultaneously at selected airports of the participating countries.

Kladovo, Serbia – The Common Operation “DUNAV 2017”, facilitated by DCAF Border Security Programme in cooperation with the Border Police Directorate within the Ministry of Interior of Republic of Serbia took place from 4-13 June 2017, with the focus on detection of smugglers and migrants, and other cross-border criminal activities, at the road section from border with Bulgaria towards central Serbia.

The 11th Meeting of the PCC SEE Expert Working Group, convened under the auspices of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Chairmanship-in-Office and with support from the PCC SEE Secretariat, took place from 6-7 March 2014 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was attended by nationally appointed members from the PCC SEE Contracting Parties and representatives from CEPOL, EUROPOL, FEDPOL, MARRI, RCC and EUD/EUSR.
