Policing and COVID-19

On 19 May 2020 DCAF Ljubljana organised a webinar on Police work in the light of COVID-19.

When the “Corona” situation first started and when the first cases began appearing in our neighbourhood, it was hard to expect everything that would happen in just a few short weeks. We saw many different measures undertaken in order to limit the spread of the virus. And many of those measures directly impacted also the work of the police.

With this webinar we wanted to share some information on the possible future scenarios regarding the coronavirus and to offer insight into the EU response practice on the case study of Slovenia.

The webinars below are provided in both the English langauge and the CRO/BIH/MNE/SRB language. You may also find the PPTs which were used during the webinars and answers to questions asked during the webinar.

Feel free to subscribe to our youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChAjWhr-pQjXFd85ZGkXFPg) where we will publish the future webinars and other relevant video materials.

For more information on the webinar, feel free to contact Mr Rok Derenčin (r.derencin@dcaf.ch).

Webinar on Information Exchange

The webinar on Information Exchange took place on 19 May 2015. Its purpose was to present the systems, instruments and channels for Information Exchange and also to address some issues and trends in this field.

The attendees to the Webinar were given insight into the DCAF Border Security Programme and the PCC SEE through the presentations of Ms Jelka Klemenc and Ms Katarina Lednik, representatives of DCAF Ljubljana. In continuation, Mr Dušan Kerin – a contracted senior advisor and an expert in the field of Information Exchange – provided a comprehensive overview on the available instruments, systems and channels for data and information exchange. Special emphasis was given on the practical examples in exchange of information and overcoming of legal barriers in order to expand the usage of these tools, to make data exchange more secure and to ensure higher data quality.

Encouraged by the positive feedback on the first webinar, DCAF Ljubljana will conduct additional webinars in the future which will also address some of the topics as they were suggested by the attending participants. The recording of the webinar, as well as the Q & A can also be found below.
