Between 9th and 10th June 2014, the outgoing Croatian MARRI Presidency and the MARRI Regional Centre co-organised the ministerial forum in Cavtat, Croatia. In attendance were high-level representatives of the ministries of the interior and foreign affairs of the MARRI Member States and high-level representatives of organisations IOM, UNHCR, OSCE, RACVIAC-SEE, SFOM and DCAF. The event marked the tenth anniversary of the regional organization. The MARRI Presidency was handed over to Macedonia. The »Cavtat Declaration« was endorsed by MARRI Member States, which confirmed the upcoming Presidency priorities, the MARRI Strategy and Action Plan for the period 2014-2016, a new procedure for the election of the MARRI Regional Centre director, and welcomed the participation of Kosovo in MARRI activities. Interventions of some MARRI Member States and most organisations emphasised the need for MARRI to seize the opportunity to become a re-established and unified regionally-owned platform in the area of migration management.
